Noodles & Dumplings

I recently went to visit Noodles and Dumplings, a newly opened authentic, family run Chinese restaurant in Glasgows west end. Conveniently located on Gibson Street, Noodles and Dumplings are serving up hand pulled noodles and hand made dumplings that can be seen being made in the open kitchen, creating a real sense of freshness and authenticity.

I visited with a friend on a cold, windy Friday night and a warm bowl of broth and noodles was just what I was after. The interior is clean and cosy with only about 6 or 7 tables and the open kitchen at the back. The staff were also very nice and welcoming but it is cash only so remember that if you're visiting!

The menu is extensive and includes a wide variation of authentic Chinese food that you may not find regularly in Glasgow such as, chicken feet and tripe. After much deliberation, I opted for the garlic beef flank noodles in broth and my friend played it safe with sweet and sour chicken on rice. We also shared some chicken pan fried dumplings, which we agreed were the best we had ever had.

Our main meals were also outstanding, especially for the price, with our mains both costing about £10. My garlic beef flank was very well seasoned and the broth was so warming, it is definitely going to becoming a craving in these colder months. However, the standout was definitely the hand pulled noodles which were perfection. A nice level of thickness and chew, it really made the dish something special.

I would highly recommend visiting Noodles and Dumplings the next time you have that craving for a nice warm bowl of broth or any Chinese food for that matter! I will definitely be making a return in the near future.
